Essential Duties and Responsibilities for this position include:

  • Supports HR Manager with recruitment process, including preparation of job postings, coordination and facilitation of interview and bookings, preparing of job offers and scheduling of medical appointments
  • Administers aptitude and personality test to applicants
  • Conducts employee orientation for new hires and prepares onboarding packages
  • Maintains accurate record of insurance coverage, pension plan, and personnel records
  • Prepares Form 7 for work related accidents and prepares reports and payments for insurance carriers as required
  • Prepares monthly HR reports
  • Maintains tracking of company benefits including safety shoes, safety glasses
  • Reviews and validates vacation disbursement and attendance management
  • Administers the Company benefit program and pension plan bookings for employees
  • Prepares performance review schedule and status form for management
  • Completes the payroll processing and enters all exceptions and personnel changes into the ADP system
  • Maintains all employee changes in Great West Life system
  • Assists with employee leaves and return to work management
  • Assists with coordination of Service Recognition Program and Attendance Program
  • Assists manager in maintaining ER Manual compliance
  • Coordinates and administers the Summer Hire Employment Program
  • Administers the SMI program
  • ER filing
  • Responsible for the publication of the quarterly newsletter, The Northern Vendor
  • Facilitates and/or participates in HR related charters including; Holiday Lunch, Summer Picnic, Halloween and United Way
  • Maintains the employee communication board
  • Prepares memos, correspondence, reports and other documents as required

Administration Duties:

  • Maintains and updates lobby welcome board as required
  • Administers basic programming functions and communication for the Toshiba Telephone System including set up and changes to phone extensions and system changes
  • Assists department in meeting method improvement objective
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree required, preferably in Human Resources
  • A minimum of two to three yearsโ€™ experience in Human Resources in a similar role
  • CHRP designation an asset or in progress
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Must be able to identify and resolve problems using sound judgement
  • Results oriented
  • Strong organizational abilities with focus on attention to detail and quality of work
  • Intermediate to advance knowledge in MS Office
  • Previous experience with ADP payroll an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrates ability to work well with others in a collaborative team environment
