Supply Chain Specialist

This individual contributor position is an important role in managing Tempur Sealy Canada’s supplier relationships. You bring a strong track record leading forecasting processes. You will work closely with the various Canadian operating facilities to ensure continuity of the Company’s supply chain processes, enhance our supplier relationships, reduce costs and optimize inventories. Your demand planning skills, combined with solid materials and supply chain knowledge will be essential to ensure that daily processes are completed in both a timely and accurate manner. Your ability to collaborating and communicate with peers will be the key to highlighting and resolving potential issues and contribute to supporting Tempur Sealy Canada’s positive, dynamic work environment.

Your responsibilities in this role will include:

Work with the Plant Managers, Plant Purchasing staff, and Marketing staff, to forecast and control the procurement of raw materials used in just-in-time manufacturing processes;

Manage supplier relationships to ensure that raw materials are delivered within established specifications, pricing competitiveness, etc;

Work with suppliers on pricing, discounts, credit terms, transportation arrangements and all contract documentation;

Liaise with Sales to forecast product demand for both Tempur and Sealy business lines to proactively anticipate increased requirements for raw materials and finished goods;

Develop and manage supplier scorecards and KPIs for such areas as on-time-delivery, quality, and other standard measures to quantitatively evaluate supplier relationships; and

Coach and mentor a team of Inventory Coordinators at each facility to ensure the on-going integrity and optimization of the perpetual inventory systems, including inventory adjustments, completion of cycle counts, etc.

Your work background will include:

Education: College diploma in Business or related discipline. A university degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management or Business Administration is preferred. Completion of PMAC designation is an asset;

5 years’ experience in demand planning, supply chain or material management experience in a just-in-time manufacturing operation with a clear track record of forecasting, building supplier relationships and developing KPIs;

Demonstrates a detailed understanding of purchasing cycles and promotional plans, including their impact on daily raw materials inventories and requirements;

Proven relationship building and influencing skills both inside and outside an organization with various stakeholders and levels;

Strong computer skills particularly with Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook

Prior systems exposure working in an MRP/ERP environment required — exposure to Microsoft Dynamics is a strong asset;

Strong detail orientation and time management skills;
