Accounting Manager The primary function of this role is to be the key member of the finance team, working to support the Finance Manager and the CFO in making sound business decisions, establishing best practices and taking a leadership role within the finance team but also within the company. As the Accounting Manager, you will manage a team of three staff accountants and have ownership over the full accounting function of multiple legal companies in Canada. You and your team will work closely with all Finance teams world-wide to improve processes and accounting procedures. Developing internal talent on your team, and working closely with local Management to reinforce and develop solid business practices will be key to success. Your strong communication skills, integrity, excellent attention to detail and an ability to multi-task in a high growth company are crucial for this role. To be successful, you will need to be a hands-on, accounting professional who takes pride in your "roll up your sleeves" attitude. About the Opportunity Manage monthly and quarterly legal reporting Oversee and help complete all aspects of financial accounting including journal entry preparation, cash and treasury management, prepaid expenses, accruals, fixed asset accounting, inter-company invoicing and other general ledger account postings on a daily, weekly and monthly basis Prepare periodic management reporting, including cash management and forecasting reports, actual vs budget analysis and other reports as required Generate supporting schedules and reconciliations to accompany the company’s financial statements Continuously improve, streamline and develop best practice within the Group with regards to accounting and management reporting Support the Finance Manager, CFO and other departments on accounting issues, daily accounting tasks and other business decisions Contact with external consultants and auditors Maintain all accounting records and general ledgers including legal, banking, government and regulatory filings Support on a variety of ad-hoc projects and analysis About You Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and CPA, CA designation A minimum of five years’ professional experience Solid analytical skills, a proactive and humble attitude Strong leadership, team building and interpersonal skills Profound understanding of accounting standards (ASPE, IFRS) Knowledge of financial planning, accounting, analysis and budgeting principles and practices Ability to prioritize and deliver tangible results within specific timelines Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to work efficiently at all levels of the organization Passion for working in an exciting fast paced and changing environment Solid understanding of accounting, especially in cash forecasting, payable/receivable procedures, controls, fixed asset accounting, cost/revenue projections, GST/HST Highly proficient within financial systems and software (previous experience with Aaro, Coda, SharePoint would be considered an asset) Intermediate to advanced Excel skills; Vlookup, SUMIFS, Pivot Tables and Marcos would be considered an asset. Salary Range $80,000/year
