MicroStrategy Developer

Job DescriptionYour future duties and responsibilities: Responsible for technical deliverables Accountable for executing against the project schedule Escalation of key issues and/or recommendations to mitigate Attends governance meetings and presents information as required Develop appropriate documentation as applications move into production Work effectively and efficiently with internal and external technical and business teams Lead team members, third parties, and technology counterparts in the implementation of architecture solutions at an enterprise level Assist in development of proposal and costing plans for projects Participate in creating the Data Model specific for the project and completed data mapping required to build MicroStrategy objects Create MicroStrategy objects: facts, attributes, prompts, filters, consolidations and metrics Design and develop reports with drill-down capabilities Contribute into MicroStrategy development activities and proposals and provide estimations Required qualifications to be successful in this role: Experience in consulting environment. Ability to determine client reporting needs, draft proposal, roadmaps, scoping, costing and technical implementation plans. Minimum 5 years experience with MicroStrategy Ability to understand and read Data Models Experience with complex MicroStrategy implementations Exposure to either the Datastage, Informatica and/or Teradata an asset Required Level of Education (include certifications): University/College degree/diploma in Computer Science or related discipline; or equivalent work experience MicroStrategy 8 Certified Report Developer certification a definite asset Soft Skills: Ability to partner with customers to identify needs and apply appropriate technical solutions Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, ability to build consensus and manage relationships Superior communication skills, both verbal and written Effective use of time management, planning and organization skills Excellent problem solving and decision making skills in a technical environment Ability to multitask and work on multiple projects at the same time Solid knowledge of the project development and software development life cycle Nice to Have Technical Skills: Other reporting tools such as Cognos, Oracle Discoverer Other Requirements (e.g. travel, shift work, on-call duty, overtime): The position may involve overtime and off hours work Location is in Scarborough.
