ARE YOU A SEASONED SENIOR ADVISOR OF FINANCIAL ACCOUNTING AND REPORTING LOOKING TO UTILIZE YOUR EXPERIENCE? Our client is seeking a Senior Advisor of Financial Accounting and Reporting on a full-time basis. Senior Advisor, Financial Accounting and Reporting The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the preparation and analysis of the consolidation of financial results of the company and its subsidiaries, in accordance with IFRS for all stakeholders and regulatory purposes. This role also provides critical input into the interpretation of relevant accounting and disclosure pronouncements and develops practical implementation methods for compliance. About the Opportunity Assist in the monthly consolidated close of the Company as part of a team Prepare, review and analyze consolidation entity adjusting entries of the Company by coordinating with other departments and subsidiaries to obtain relevant information Prepare financial schedules and supporting notes for financial statements and management reporting Support research on new accounting and reporting policies and procedures affecting the Company following changes in business practices or accounting standards to ensure compliance with policies and IFRS Prepare financial statement variance analysis for inclusion in the monthly financial reporting package for consolidation and other analysis as required for management Support assessments of accounting impacts of often changing complex business flows and review consolidation methodology around changes and current processes Preparation of complete and accurate financial statements for subsidiaries and pension plans in compliance with IFRS and regulatory requirements Preparation of analysis of consolidation ledger on a timely basis to ensure accuracy and completeness of the Company’s consolidated financial results in compliance with IFRS Preparation of government and other statutory surveys and questionnaires to meet compliance standards Perform ad-hoc projects within the scope of the Comptrollership department including assistance with complex accounting and business analysis Respond to auditor requests and queries About You A university degree in Business/Finance/Accounting An accounting designation (CPA, CA, CPA CMA or CPA, CGA) 5-7 years experience years of related experience including experience in a public accounting firm and a multi-location corporation Sound knowledge of IFRS and ability to interpret and apply standards in a practical way Excellent analytical ability and financial modeling skills Effective problem-solving skills and ability to use critical thinking to resolve quality problems Customer focused with excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent Excel skills Previous experience with Hyperion HFM Adaptable to often changing working demands Ability to maintain the accuracy of data with a strong detail orientation Ability to multitask, prioritize and organize work in an efficient way Experience with effectively managing multiple tasks and changing priorities in a professional manner Analytical ability, with a process improvement approach Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment Salary Range $90,000-$95,000/year
