– $36.85, PSG TF4320, Wage grade 9 Shift Information: Monday to Friday, 40 Hours per week Affiliation: L79 Full-time Number of Positions Open: 1 Posting Period: 01-Feb-2021 to 16-Feb-2021 Major Responsibilities: Under the direction of an Engineering Technologist Technician 1, and reporting to the Supervisor, Land & Property Surveys, this employee: Performs as an Instrument Person in the operation of a Cadastral Survey Field Crew.

Uses total stations, data collectors and GPS equipment to collect information for party chief Assists survey party chief in conducting field activities such as measuring, data collection, field note preparation, documentation, layout, etc.

Cleans and maintains survey equipment and vehicle, including keeping adequate stock of consumables Files and retrieves survey records as part of job set up Responds to complaints and inquiries.

Locates property limits to resolve ownership issues Prepares sketches, technical designs and elevations.

Read and interprets technical drawings Transforms information from plans into digital data.

Maintains and updates data.

Collects, downloads and manipulates preliminary data for input and processing on a personal computer Operates and maintains a variety of mechanical, digital, wireless, computerized and other equipment in order to perform surveys, CAD, calculations, diagnostics, and repairs.

Performs measurements and/or checks survey calculations such as closures, levels, coordination, etc.

Key Qualifications: Your application must describe your qualifications as they relate to: Post-secondary education in Surveying or Civil Engineering Technology or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience in operating survey field equipment such as total stations, data collectors, levels, GNSS, etc.

Experience in performing manual and computerized mathematical calculations used in Cadastral Land Surveying.

Must possess and be able to maintain a valid Province of Ontario ”G” driver’s licence and be eligible to qualify for a City’s driver’s permit.
