They are currently looking for a Manager, Finance, to take on a hybrid role of reporting, FP& A, strategy and businessplanning, external relations, and other ad-hoc work.Why Work HereComprehensive salary and benefits packageOrganization is going through a lot of growth, will offer progression possibilitiesThis position will be Number 2 in Finance and the right-hand person to the Head of FinanceAbout the OpportunityLead a team that includes a Senior Financial Analyst, Property Accountant, Accounts Payable and System AdministratorEnsure on-time preparation of quarterly and annual (3rd party audited) financial statements for each internally managed asset and lead and coordinate audit processPrepare annual budgets, with input from the Vice President of Finance, for each internally managed assetConduct analysis and reporting on budget variances and operating metrics for each internally managed assetInvestor reporting, budgeting, financial reporting, and operating issuesLead and execute the strategy for our ERP system (Yardi Voyager) and successfully execute process improvements by liaising with our consultants and Yardi project teamFormulate, recommend and initiate a strategic plan and business plan for the Finance department designed to support overall company objectivesWork closely with other members of the Management Team in developing and implementing the company strategic plan that establishes goals, identifies key strategic issues to be addressed, objectives and strategies for the companyIdentify critical issues that must be addressed to realize the future vision of the company, and set short, medium and long-term objectives, strategies and budgets to address those issuesIn conjunction with the Management Team, promote the company by initiating and developing strong partnerships and alliances with key stakeholders including, but not limited to, investors, lenders, bankers, and partnersKeep abreast of trends in the GTA multi-family apartment market, capital markets and regulatory compliance requirementsRecommend new and innovative approaches that can enhance company performanceAnticipate and addresses current and ongoing consumer and community needsRepresent the company to the public to ensure a clear and positive profile and promote effective working relationships with the community servedHire and provide feedback to staff and management within the Finance departmentProvide leadership to the Finance teamCoach direct reports to develop a high level of performance and confidence in their responsibilitiesEnsure staff are developed, trained, motivated and evaluated for annual job performance reviewsProvide effective leadership to all members of staff through a demonstration of mentoring, team building, positive stress management techniques, problem-solving and planningWork effectively with all levels of management and company staffConsult with Senior Management of Finance on complex or sensitive staff-related issuesAbout YouCPA designationAudit/Public Accounting Experience (preference with a Big 4 firm)5 years of strong accounting and finance experienceSupervisory/ Training/ Mentorship experienceExperience in Real Estate or Property ManagementSalary Range$100,000 $110,000/year
