Job title :AMBULATORY CARE NURSE Community :KELOWNA Facility :KELOWNA GENERAL HOSPITAL Status :RELIEF PART TIME (0.73 FTE) Position Summary We are building our Minor Surgery Team in Kelowna General Hospital’s Ambulatory Care Department and have an immediate relief part time opening.

A Registered Nurse will qualify when holding British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives registration and advanced preparation in the clinical specialty of gastro intestinal (GI) Nursing, perioperative nursing, or minor surgery.

As member of the Ambulatory Care Team, you will coordinate and oversee the overall care of the client and provide leadership for the plan of care, implement health care treatments and interventions, and assign and delegate tasks as appropriate to other members of the healthcare team.

Supporting physicians during procedures, you will draw upon your ability to set priorities and provide clinical expertise.

This position is to provide coverage until December 2021, or the return of incumbent.

Rotation schedule is Monday to Friday Days or Evenings.

Qualifications Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).

Advanced preparation in one of the clinical specialty of the assigned program area as required by the position:
• Minor Procedures Clinic
– completion of recognized post-basic education in perioperative nursing (including theory and practicum in scrub and circulating roles), plus two years recent related ambulatory care experience which includes experience in minor surgical in an acute care facility or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

• Endoscopy
– Certification in gastro intestinal (GI) Nursing and a minimum of two years recent, related clinical experience in the assigned practice environment; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
