Occupational Health and Wellness Nurse Lead

Description Position at Lifemark Health Group Occupational Health and Wellness Nurse Lead (RN)
– Full Time Location: Markham, ON.

This role will consist of a work-from-home component along with an in-office presence as required, contingent on Covid-19 restrictions.

The Occupational Health and Wellness Nurse Lead with Lifemark provides support to the Director of Health and Wellness, and the Director of Occupational Health and Wellness Services.

This involves participation with implementing and maintaining standards of practice, including the supervision of professional staff with a key focus on performance management.

As a full time Registered Nurse (RN) and an integral member of our preventative health practice, you will function as an occupational health nurse to assist with the delivery of employer health events such as flu clinics, biometric testing, or pre-employment nurse assessments, as well as the design and delivery of occupational health and wellness programs and services.

Key responsibilities will include: Provide clinical nurse expertise and knowledge in the development, delivery and evaluation of programs.

Provide direct nursing services to clients as assigned (i.e.

preplacement nursing assessments, audiometric, vision and pulmonary function screening, drug and alcohol testing, immunization clinics and biometric clinics and health education) Maintain positive communication with clients internally and externally Work collaboratively with the Occupational Health and Wellness teams and our national staff Organize and coordinate various assessments and testing Conduct research as required in relation to Employer Services Design, develop and implementation occupational health and wellness programs and services Update SharePoint on clinical services, processes and protocols Provide training and oversight to the National roster of nurses Maintain updated training protocols for all types of vaccinations plus biometric screenings Staying current on all aspects of COVID-19 as it relates to public health and employer guidelines Key qualifications for a successful National Nurse Lead: Demonstrated success in a clinical nursing position Occupational Health audiometric, vision and pulmonary function testing / certification an asset Experience in biometric screening and flu immunization clinic delivery and coordination an asset Knowledge of occupational health legislation an asset.

Demonstrated expertise in Occupational Health and Safety, and Wellness programs, Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen attention to details Superior customer service skills Excellent organizational skills Strong computer literacy knowledge Registered Nurse in good standing with his/her college Registered Nurse, holding a current ”Certificate of Competence” from the College of Nurses of Ontario; Current CPR certification RNAO or equivalent liability insurance Certificate of diploma in Occupational Health an asset; Prefer a minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience Experience with training and development, coaching and project management an asset Bilingual in English and French languages are considered an asset Valid drivers license Drug and alcohol testing certifications considered an asset This role requires the ability to remain highly organized with excellent time management.

Expertise in training nurses one on one and in groups, along with training/webinar development experience.

It takes having patience, persistence, and the strong desire to achieve successful outcomes; motivation and business acumen to deliver superior customer service.

Additional qualifications include proficiency with utilizing Microsoft Office programs such as Outlook, Word, and Excel at an intermediate-advanced level, and in presenting with a positive, friendly approach to training and coaching other nurses.

Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario is required.
