Algorithm Engineer 3

This is a Contract position in Toronto, ON posted May 6, 2018.

Overview

The Algorithm Engineer is responsible for the design, evaluation, and implementation of complex algorithms for product development.

Responsibilities

  • Work with product management and application engineering to understand product requirement and create cost effective scalable systems
  • Develop, implement and maintain medical imaging processing algorithm ideas
  • Maintain and troubleshoot existing medical imaging visualization toolkit
  • Research algorithm improvements for speed and/or accuracy and implement into product design
  • Test and assist in the verification and validation process
  • Work with development teams to integrate engines into final release of software
  • Continuously improve and maintain existing software solutions

Qualifications

  • Graduate degrees in Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or Physics
  • 5 or more years of experience in developing medical image analysis algorithms demonstrating creativity and ability to translate algorithm ideas into production quality code
  • Specialization desired in one or more of segmentation, machine learning, mesh algorithms, GPGPU (experience with mesh and volume rendering an advantage)
  • Driven to learn and stay current professionally
  • Strong collaboration skills, applied successfully within team as well as with other areas
  • Able to thrive in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
  • Experience with full software test and release process, including some issue tracking system and some source control system
  • Experience with code optimization and impact of algorithm variation on performance
  • Good communication skills, can explain algorithms well
  • Good working knowledge of C#, preferably also of C++ 11/14
  • Knowledge of Web technologies, JavaScript is a plus
  • Knowledge of data structures, algorithms and design patterns
  • Highly organized and experienced at successfully multi-tasking
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage projects to completion with minimal oversight
  • Up to 5% travel time required
