Job Description: 3M is seeking a Manufacturing Technologist for its Personal Safety Manufacturing facility, located in Brockville, ON.

The successful candidate will work in a dynamic team environment, perform preventive, corrective, and diagnostic maintenance proficiently on a variety of innovative manufacturing machines, and will be challenged to apply knowledge and skills to achieve high personal and group performance working with a world-class team.

Safe, high quality diagnostics and repair are expected, and your creative and innovative improvement solutions are equally sought out.

This role can be a T1 or T2 depending on competencies.

Successful security clearance under the Canadian Controlled Goods Registration program is a mandatory pre-requirement for this position at this location.

Please note the following are some (but not all) of the listed requirements for Controlled Goods Clearance:
· Must be a Canadian citizen normally residing in Canada, or must be a Permanent Resident normally residing in Canada
· Must have valid and current identification (i.e.: driver’s license, passport, birth certificate)
· Must be able to provide a residential address and employment history of the past 5 years
· If applicable, living outside of Canada during the past five years will require an international criminal name check Main Responsibilities: Perform preventative, corrective, and diagnostic maintenance Process support through PLC diagnostic troubleshooting Drive continual improvement programs in areas of responsibility with root cause failure analysis of equipment and develop preventive maintenance procedures Provide technical leadership to production personnel through active participation at daily manufacturing Tier meetings Read and interpret schematics, drawings and PLC ladder logic Develop a cooperative effort with manufacturing and plant engineering personnel to support equipment reliability Basic Qualifications: Post-secondary education (Technologist Diploma preferred) Standard shift rotations with periodic on-call support for 24/7 operations Proficient in electro mechanics, pneumatics, hydraulics and industrial robotics Experience with Variable Frequency motor controls, servo controls Experienced in PLC controllers and process instrumentation with experience in OMRON and Rockwell control systems a strong asset Basic MS Office skills and Maintenance Management Software.

(SAP working knowledge as asset) Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with little supervision in a team oriented environment Preferred Qualifications: Able to work effectively with multi-disciplinary teams Strong communication skills Strong self-motivation and time management skills Ideal candidate will have a strong Electrical / Instrumentation background as well as a solid Mechanical aptitude 3 years of manufacturing experience preferred Trave l: In this role, you will be required to travel less than 5% of the time, which may involve overnight stays.

A valid driver’s license is required.
