Job Description

Job Title: IT Business Solution Analyst

Reports To: Manager, IT Solutions

Department: Information Technology

Job Summary

IT Business Solution Analyst role requires a results driven individual well versed in industry trend on business and technology evolution with good understanding of the Systems/Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) coupled with knowledge in chip, cryptography, and other related payment card technologies.

Role requires thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into clear and detailed application and operational requirements.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Establish and document business and technical requirements on assigned accounts’ initiatives and projects.
  • Deliver technical solutions for internal and client driven assignments in accordance with corporate standards and industry best practices.
  • Gather information and synthesize findings into business/functional /technical requirements and design documents.
  • Serve as the conduit between business stakeholders and the software development team.
  • Manage , classify and store IT Business and Technical documentation, including but not limited to Technical and Functional Specifications
  • Assist in the Business case development of IT projects , IT assessments, certification processes, audits, creation of Statement of Work (SOW) and RFP/RFI responses .
  • Provide inputs into project / resource estimating activities.
  • Facilitate and participate in working sessions to elicit functional and technical requirements
  • Provide consulting and technical support to internal and external clients on payment technologies, and solutions including: data transfer, data mapping and processing, reporting, cryptography, printing, card productions and other technical and related disciplines.
  • Create and refine preliminary design / mockup of new functionality and develop flow charts, functional diagrams and descriptions to communicate application design specifications for projects, as required
  • Support IT Quality Control team in preparing test cases in projects.
  • Participate and support IT Development and Testing.
  • Assist in administration of issue logs on assigned projects .
  • Provide knowledge and expertise to our clients Account Executives to support client relationship and management.
  • Participate in the internal and external steering committee and governance meetings .
  • Participate in and support cross technology process improvement initiatives.
  • Act as a SME and point of contact for small daily programming enhancements & defect fixes.

Secondary Responsibilities

  • May require to provide key administration and other analytical services.
  • Require to provide backup duties to other members while they are out of the office.
  • Assist with process improvements, documentation of existing processes, and workflows.
  • Require to gather business requirements for projects with minimal technology changes.
  • Assist with test data entry.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Experience and Educational Requirements

Work Experience:

  • Working knowledge of Systems/Software Development Life Cycle and Project Management concepts.
  • Knowledge of Payment industry and EMV (Europay, Mastercard and Visa) is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Mobile Payment technology is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of programming or technical support and testing experience.
  • High level of computer competency in Microsoft Office Products (MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Project, Visio)
  • Knowledge of SAP Systems, BOWE One system, MS Power BI , OpenText Dailog Extreme,Confluence, JIRA, Salesforce, Sharepoint.

  • Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills.
  • Disciplined approach to reporting, metrics, and performance management.
  • Ability to lead team members.

Education:

  • A University degree in Computer Science / Information Systems or relevant technical discipline.
  • Programming experience with SQL Server, XML, C++,C, Java, Web services, Data communication methods an asset.
  • Strong understanding of client-server architectures, cryptography concepts and data management methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of requirement gathering concepts, test and used cases modeling, Jira defect tracking tool and testing methodologies
  • SAP system knowledge is nice to have
