– Vancouver, BC Status: Regular Part Time
– Vacation Relief (0.51 FTE) Start Date: As soon as possible Salary: $24.46 per hour Hours: 0800-2000/1200-2400 Days off: Rotating Reference: 144586-aca Come work as a Clerk in the Urgent Care Centre at UBC Hospital Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) is looking for a Clerk to join the team in the Urgent Care Centre at UBC Hospital.

Apply today to join our team As a Clerk, you will: Work in a team based environment and perform clerical/receptionist functions in support of the delivery of client care.

Support your team by: completing and processing admitting records, contacting personnel for missing information, entering data into an electronic system, transcribing and processing physicians’ orders, communicating with other departments and hospitals/agencies to coordinate/arrange client appointments and tests, and receiving and processing test results.

Receive visitors, answer the telephone and prioritize requests.

Assemble and maintain client charts, compile statistics, type and distribute a variety of technical and non-technical reports and other materials utilizing computer systems and software relevant to the job.

Maintain an inventory of stationery supplies and ensure filing systems are maintained.

QUALIFICATIONS: Education & Experience Grade 12, medical terminology and graduation from a recognized Nursing Unit Clerk program plus one year’s recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Ability to keyboard 45 w.p.m.

Ability to organize and prioritize work.

Ability to deal with others effectively.

Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

Physical ability to perform the duties of the job.

Ability to utilize a variety of computer software applications.

Ability to operate related office equipment.

The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes.

Successful applicants may be required to complete a Criminal Records Review Check.
