Job Description

Title: Vendor Management Specialist

Our client has an immediate need for a Vendor Manager for a 3 month contract to start.
This role manages policies, practices, and processes for the selection, negotiation, purchasing and ongoing governance of
strategic vendors.

Things You Need to Have:
 University degree in technology, engineering, business
 Professional designation preferred, for example Certified Commercial Contracts Manager (CCCM)
 5-7 years in a vendor and contract management role successfully introducing and implementing new processes and
procedures, identifying and facilitating cost

– saving strategies, anticipating the impact of innovation, new initiatives
on current practices and resources while handling the day-to-day of vendor and contract management
 In depth understanding of the practice of vendor and contract management
 Excellent negotiation and relationship management skills
 Excellent English written/oral skills
 Innovative pragmatic, solution focused
 Ability to work with all levels of an organization
 Solid expertise using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

What you will be doing:
 The Vendor Manager oversees policies, practices, and processes for the selection, negotiation, and purchasing /
licensing of products and services
 Establishes the Vendor and Contract Management processes across the company
 Ensures contracts align with governance, legal and regulatory requirements
 Negotiates, extends, terminates, and renegotiates contracts for the acquisition of equipment, materials, products,
or services
 Conducts analyses of existing vendor networks to assess their capability of meeting business objectives;
recommends new vendors in terms of capacity
 Recommends, develops and implements processes and tools for different types of contracts, risk assessments,
disputes, and issue resolutions, etc.
 Arbitrates claims or complaints occurring under the performance of contracts
 Supervises management and administration for a wide variety of contracts
 Advises on the practices and considerations for upgrading existing contracts and solving complex contract
management problems
 Leverages / acquires tools for contracts management and trains those needing access
 Develops standard processes to maximize contracts efficiency and effectiveness
 Evaluates operational issues and considerations in contract enforcement
 Anticipates contract issues and manages risk regarding legal issues
 Supports the Leadership team as needed
 Meets with the business as required ensuring requirements are being met
 May handle communication for both external and internal audiences at all levels
 Accountable for vendor governance including vendor monitoring, issue resolution, and scheduled governance
meetings with key stakeholders
 Coaches/mentors those involved in contract and vendor management to ensure legal, financial and requirements
are met to mitigate risk
 Ensures contracted services are delivered on time, meeting quality and budget criteria
 Ensures contracts meet policy requirements

 Ensures contract currency, completeness and accuracy
 Meets annual performance goals and stretch targets
 Contributes to development of policies procedures related to vendor and contract management, and compliance
with existing ones
 Works with other internal staff experts to maximize the standardization and efficiency of new policies procedures
 Implements sound financial planning that is aligned with the corporate plan
