Job Description

We are seeking a Licensed Insurance Representative to join our team!

Must be licensed or willing to obtain licensing prior to start date.

You will be responsible for providing outstanding customer service and developing relationships with our existing clients and local area businesses.

Based on client needs you will also be encouraged to find cross-sales opportunities.

  • Resolve client inquiries and complaints
  • Present and sell insurance policies to new and existing clients
  • Develop and calculate suitable plans based on clients’ needs
  • Expand business reach through networking techniques
  • Comply with insurance standards and regulations

  • Previous experience in insurance, customer service, or other related fields
  • Ability to build rapport with clients

This position is with a State Farm independent contractor agent, not with State Farm Insurance Companies. Employees of State Farm agents must be able to successfully complete any applicable licensing requirements and training programs.

This employment opportunity is with a State Farm independent contractor agent in Canada. State Farm agents in Canada now operate as independent contractor agents for Certas Home and Auto Insurance Company and Desjardins Financial Security Life Assurance Company. State Farm® is a registered trademark owned by State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company and is used under license to Certas Home and Auto Insurance Company and Desjardins Financial Security Life Assurance Company, which underwrite State Farm-branded products in Canada. This licensing agreement may last for up to five years from the January 1, 2015 closing date.

Qualifications to be employees of a State Farm agent in Canada are established by each independent contractor agent and may require successful completion of licensing requirements and training programs. State Farm agents are independent contractors who hire their own employees. State Farm agents’ employees are not employees of State Farm Insurance Companies or Certas Home and Auto Insurance Company or Desjardins Financial Security Life Assurance Company or any of its affiliates.

Must have applicable license or must obtain applicable licensing requirements.
Sales experience (outside sales or inside sales representative, retail sales associate, or telemarketing) preferred

Establish customer relationships and follow up with customers, as needed.
Provide prompt, accurate, and friendly customer service. Service can include responding to inquiries regarding insurance availability, eligibility, coverages, policy changes, transfers, claim submissions, and billing clarification.
Use a customer-focused, needs-based review process to educate customers about insurance options.
Maintain a strong work ethic with a total commitment to success each and every day.
