Brokerage Operations Manager: Trading


This is a Full-time position in Toronto, ON posted February 11, 2018.

Brokerage Operations Managers oversee risk and meet compliance requirements intelligently, with analytics, grit, and grace. We manage hundreds of millions of dollars, so the stakes are high. ​In this role, you’ll:

  • Join the leadership on our brokerage team
  • Be responsible for managing and transforming operations
  • Set metrics, identifying operational improvements, and drive productivity measures with an innovative approach
  • Use data to prioritize Brokerage Technology work, set requirements, help get things out of beta
  • Lead the trade desk while handling new processes and improving exception handling

We’re Looking For People Who:

  • Highly analytical, strategic thinker and data driven, but also a creative problem solver and innovator
  • Demonstrated success in crafting deals that result in company, partner, and most importantly, client success
  • Ability to make thoughtful, actionable recommendations under minimal structure, and quickly build consensus with senior level internal and external stakeholders
  • History of solving highly unstructured business problems
  • Collegial, high energy, and persistent personality


  • Significant experience in business development and strategic partnerships
  • Proven track record of setting strategy, building programs, and growing businesses via business development
  • Proven experience in complex deals and comfort with using analytics to drive toward win-win solutions
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Deep understanding and empathy for clients

Nice-to-haves (but not necessary):

  • Previous experience in a financial institution or technology startup
  • Experience building financial models to project business impact of prospective partnerships
  • Strong product sensibility, and comfort with considering basic technical feasibility of partner integrations
