Pipeline Engineer

As the Pipeline Engineer , you will get the chance to work on meaningful projects and gain practical skills to build your future career You will be responsible for the design and construction of capital and expense pipeline and related facility projects and providing engineering expertise for resolution of pipeline issues.

– we’re looking to add to our team an individual who shares these same values What you will do: Ensure that all pipelines and associated facilities are crafted in accordance with all regulations, applicable industry codes and corporate specifications and standards.

Review vendor materials quotations, prepare technical evaluations, and recommend to the supervisor selections based on technical merit along with price and delivery (e.g.

pipe, valves and fittings).

Review and approve fabrication and assembly approval drawings for engineered equipment, and other fabrications (prefabricated buildings, piping fabrications, pig trap barrels, etc.).

Maintain the WPS and PQR registry and provide pipeline welding support.

Lead the development and update of all pipeline engineering standards, specifications and practices.

Ensure documentation is built or updated and available in response to project requirements and other operational needs.

Provide pipeline expertise to risk assessment of project and operational activities and advise on mitigations necessary to avoid undesirable circumstances.

Review lessons learned from past projects and incorporate recommendations into future designs.

Provide technical guidance / mentorship to junior / peer engineers within the team.

Who you are: Engineering degree in an applicable field, professional engineering designation and eligible for registration with APEGA.

Minimum 4 years of directly related experience in medium to large diameter pipeline design, construction and facility design.

Team oriented with proven ability to work with minimal direction.

Motivated, innovative and capable of handling several assignments and prioritize tasks accordingly.

Solid understanding of industry codes and regulations (e.g.

CSA Z662, CER Onshore Pipeline Regulation, ASME B31.8, PHMSA 49CFR Part 192).

Optimally communicate technical issues and impacts to other technical and non-technical team members.

Working Conditions: Approximately 80-90% of work is office-based working with multiple project teams.

Approximately 10-20% of time is in the field observing projects or supporting construction activities.
