At Humber River Hospital the Allied Health team plays a pivotal role delivering diagnostic, technical, supportive and therapeutic patient care.

Registered Dietitians are valued members of our Allied Services Department.

Registered Dietitians assist patients with their nutritional needs performing assessments, and making nutritional recommendations.

Registered dietitians are health care professionals who are trained to provide advice and counselling about diet, food and nutrition.

They work in collaboration with SLP’s, wound and skin, food services, and other members of the interdisciplinary team to address and enhance the nutritional needs of the patient.

Reporting Relationship: Manager, Allied Health Services Hourly Rate: $36.12
– $43.91 Location: Finch Site, with occasional cross coverage at the Church and Wilson sites Position Responsibilities: Providing appropriate assessment and treatment of referred patients/clients with an ALC patient population, located at the Reactivation Care Centre (RCC), Finch location Occasional cross coverage may be required, working in various units and programs including at the Wilson inpatient Medicine, Surgery, Critical Care, and the Reactivation Care Centre (Church location).

Prioritizing patient caseload to meet the needs of referred patients.

Recording client assessment, progress and discharge status.

Recording timely workload measurement data.

Works as a member of the health care team.

Flexibility in caseload and program assignment.

Able to manage patient caseload in a busy acute care setting.

Clinical supervision of clinical nutrition students/interns.

Some weekend and statutory holiday coverage may be required as needed.

Qualifications: Bachelors or Masters Degree in Food and Nutrition.

Current registration in good standing with the College of Dietitians of Ontario.

Completion of an internship program and a member (or eligibility to become a member) of the Dietitians of Canada.

1-2 years clinical experience is preferred.

Experience in TPN an asset Excellent knowledge of clinical nutrition principles and evidence based nutrition practice Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills, including an ability to encourage, support and motivate patients and/or their families from a multi-cultural community.

Excellent time management and organizational skills.

Able to work effectively in an interdisciplinary team.

Ability to travel for cross-site coverage may be required.

Access to a vehicle is an asset.

Excellent attendance and discipline free record required.

Location: Humber River Hospital
– Wilson Site with some cross-coverage at the Reactivation Care Centre (Finch location).

Hours of work: Available to work rotating shifts (Monday to Friday).

Availability to work weekends and statutory holidays may be required on occasion.
