Job title :REHABILITATION ASSISTANT | LONG TERM CARE Community :INVERMERE Facility :COLUMBIA HOUSE Status :RELIEF PART TIME (0.46 FTE) Position Summary Interior Health’s Columbia House (CLH) invites applications for the role of Rehabilitation Assistant.

CLH is looking for a knowledgeable Rehabilitation Assistant with a two-year diploma having focus on supporting both Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy Services.

CLH, located in Invermere, B.C., is a 35 bed, long-term care facility, two of which are dedicated to respite/short stay clients.

CLH embodies a resident-centered philosophy designed to support individual choices, help people function at their highest level, and provide the best quality of life possible.

As member of the CLH multidisciplinary rehabilitation team, you will carry out designed rehabilitative treatment plans and programs and assist the Interior Health therapists in monitoring and evaluating patients/residents’ progression.

Reporting to the Physiotherapy Professional Practice Lead, and/or designates, you will draw upon your ability to contribute to the overall evaluation of the client by identifying and reporting observable factors which might impact a client’s therapeutic program and progress; demonstrate the techniques of activities; and provide functional skills training to residents and families in activities of daily living, mobility and communication.

The CLH rehabilitation team is comprised this one Rehabilitation Assistant, a Physiotherapist and an Occupational Therapist.

This is a relief, part-time position until November 2021, or the return of incumbent.

Shifts are scheduled during the day Mondays to Fridays (08:30 to 12:53 hours).

Qualifications Education, Training and Experience:
• Completion of a recognized, two-year Rehabilitation Assistant Diploma Program.

• Valid Driver’s License.
