ONA is seeking to hire a Team Lead, Information Technology (IT) Operations to join our IT Team (comprised of both IT Operations and Application Development). Working within the boundaries of ONA’s governing and administrative policies, organizational vision and strategic outcomes, the Team Lead, IT Operations will supervise and coordinate the activities of the Help Desk and IT support team, ensuring and improving the performance, productivity and efficiency of IT operations through the provision of effective methods and strategies. This position will ensure that a high level of customer service is achieved in all interactions with internal and external customers by scheduling and facilitating coverage, workload and workflow and serving as overflow or backup coverage, as needed. This role requires collaboration with end-users and all with other teams within the organization. This is what else you can expect from this dynamic role: Perform review and analysis of the various technical support services required of the team to identify trends, service gaps, recurring issues and failure points; propose measures to mitigate and proactively address and eliminate issues. Oversee and manage multi-platform data centre operations, co-located disaster recovery, virtual server infrastructure and storage. Identify risks and propose mitigation strategies for technical solutions and/or services always looking for improvement where it can exist. Maintain the organization’s virtualized data centre with maximum uptime possible. Plan, develop, install, configure, maintain and optimize the IT infrastructures in local & remote environments. Responsible for ensuring the maintenance and optimization of network infrastructure. Run all corporate backup and replication infrastructure and strategies (Veeam Backup knowledge a must). Manage and maintain the organization’s ShoreTel UC VOIP phone system. Demonstrate an ability to configure, document and implement application software and train end-users. Responsive to end-user needs and ensure the highest quality customer service provision at all times. Evaluate software packages (application and operating system) and hardware of the business, and recommend changes and/or upgrades as required to properly support the business. Ability to evaluate system performance and recommend steps for continuous improvement. Availability, including evenings and weekends, to respond to system outages and other emergency IT issues that require immediate resolution. What we are looking for: The successful candidate will possess

– Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered). Current VMware Certified Professional Certificate preferred. Six (6) to eight (8) years of relevant experience where hands-on IT Infrastructure Management is required. Five or more years of experience coordinating the activities of a diverse group of people having accountability for a complex number of issues Experience working within a unionized setting. Current MSCE Certification an asset. Certificate in Project Management an asset. Proven experience at providing technical leadership to IT Operations staff on complex projects. Ability to speak other languages is considered an asset. Technical requirements: Operating Systems: Windows 8.1, Windows 10, MS Server 2008, MS Server 2012, MS Server 2016. Suse Linux version 11. Software Applications: Sage Accounting, Micro Focus GroupWise 2018, Micro Focus Vibe 4.0.4, Micro Focus Filr 3.3, Micro Focus Zenworks, Retain Email Archive, MS Exchange 2016, VMware vSphere 6.0, MS Office 2007/2010/2013/2016, Veeam Backup and Replication, Active Directory and Edirectory. Virtualization Technologies: VMware Certified Professional Preferred, Hyper-V a plus. Databases: MS SQL 2005/2008/2012, MYSQL. Hardware: Installing, Configuring, Upgrading, Maintenance, LAN, WAN and Troubleshooting.
