QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3+ years routing/switching experience
    • Cisco/Meraki

      – CCNA certification preferred

    • Aruba- ACMA/ACMX (ACCA, ACCP, ACCX) certification preferred
    • Ruckus WISE II certification preferred
  • 1+ years wireless experience
    • Cisco/Ruckus/Aruba- Aruba and Ruckus experience a priority
    • AirMagnet and Ekahau experience a priority
    • Configuration of both autonomous and lightweight access point solutions, including Cisco Clean Air, Wireless Control System, Aruba ARM
    • Thorough understanding of WLAN technologies, security and network management; including knowledge of wireless technology, including 802.11 b/g/n/ac, point-to-point and mesh deployments.
  • Experience troubleshooting network configurations
  • Experience in troubleshooting wireless systems and control software
  • Experience installing and terminating/troubleshooting Cat6 cabling in commercial setting.
  • Must be able to gather and organize data, then make logical decisions based on that data and implement a solution
  • Must have working experience with writing basic configurations with little/no direction
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office & Visio Suite.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Must have customer-facing experience
  • Ability to disseminate technical knowledge to non-technical customers
  • Regular, national travel experience a plus
  • Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities
  • Willingness to train and earn new certifications

SCOPE:

  • Perform network implementations
  • Installation and configuration of routers and switches
  • Installation and configuration of wireless access points
  • Configuration of controller
  • Turn up of routers/circuits
  • Install network backbone, including wireless controller
  • Perform wireless site surveys using AirMagnet and Ekahau software
  • Perform passive survey of existing networks
  • Perform passive survey using test equipment to determine suitable coverage
  • Perform active surveys using iPerf/ Spectrum Analyzer
  • Document all surveys and network implementations
  • May include network diagrams, port mapping, photographs, etc.
  • Troubleshoot network/controller/access point issues
  • Advanced troubleshooting when needed
  • May work with a remote NOC as needed
  • May work with customer directly to resolve wireless issues
  • Time and Expense Reporting
  • Note and log time entries in online PSA software
  • Collect and upload copies of receipts in online PSA software
  • Record time and expenses in a timely manner
  • Install and terminate Cat6 Cabling for network use
  • Terminate to patch panels and biscuit Jacks
  • Terminate according to accepted cabling standards
  • Test and Certify cabling with appropriate hardware
  • May require conduit for installation

TRAVEL: 95%

TOOLS REQUIRED:

· Cell phone with unlimited nationwide calling and data- Bluetooth headset recommended

· Power screwdriver or small drill with Philips and flathead bits

· Non-power 1x Philips and 1x flathead screwdriver

· Torx screwdriver (T6 & T10, or bits for power driver/drill)

· Cutting snips/scissors

· Cisco console/rollover cable

· Whiteboard and dry erase marker (8×10)

· Needle nose pliers

· 8MP (or better) digital camera

· Punch down tool
