Data Quality Analyst

This is a Full-time position in Scarborough, ON posted July 13, 2021.

Job Description Data Quality Analyst, Utilization and Analytics Permanent Full Time The Data Quality Analyst will provide management of data quality and reporting of various operational clinical reports and ministry submissions including but not limited to surgery/diagnostic imaging/ALC wait-times information systems (WTIS), safety and quality reports, and performance/benchmarking reports for internal and external reporting.

The incumbent will serve as a liaison and data quality subject matter expert between the hospital’s ministry contacts (CCO, MOHLTC, Ontario Health), physician offices, and Mackenzie Health Operational leadership.

This position will ensure the hospital maintains submission and data quality compliance of wait-time submission to CCO, conducts training for various administrative WTIS stakeholders, and ensures benchmarking/performance reports are disseminated internally in a timely manner.

With Mackenzie Health’s continually evolving SMART hospital objective, this role will also be continuously improving data quality and submission processes to improve throughput and efficiency.

Strong organizational, technical, and interpersonal skills is imperative to effectively perform in this role.

What must you have?

Post-secondary diploma in a healthcare or business administration related field.

What else do you bring?

At least 3 years experience in clinical data quality analysis.

At least 3 years experience working with electronic medical records (Epic, Meditech, etc.) At least 3 years’ experience working in healthcare setting with a basic understanding of hospital patient flow / clinical workflow.

At least 3 years experience working with CCO’s wait-time information systems (iPort/ATC).

Functional knowledge in CCO’s surgery, diagnostic imaging, and ALC reporting is required.

Experience in training others in healthcare workflow would be an asset.

Experience working with multiple stakeholders at all levels of the organization (surgery, DI, ALC) an asset.

Knowledge of hospital clinical databases (e.g.

DAD,NACRS, CCRS, NRS, OMHRS, CCIS, WTIS, ERNI, etc.) and case mix systems (e.g.


Experience with funding models (HBAM, MOH QBPs, CCO QBPs).

Knowledge of MOH, CCO/ ORS and CIHI data submission and reporting tools.

Knowledge and understanding of key health care performance measures (clinical, financial, utilization, efficiency) and balanced scorecards.
