Assistant Manager Trade Marketing

Job Description

As Assistant Manager Trade Marketing, you play a critical role in the creation, management, and execution of customer focused selling initiatives designed to drive sales and meet our objectives.

You will be the expert in customer marketing and insights into what makes our customers tick. You are energized by the idea of working in a fast growth, start-up environment and you have the personal leadership, the drive, the smarts, and the can do attitude to chart and execute the path to success. You are insatiably curious, insight driven with collaborative approach and a high customer service orientation. The role reports directly into the head of commercial operations.

Sales Support

· Arm in arm with sales, lead development of customer specific selling materials.

· Support the sales team by developing and maintaining a customer execution calendar with supporting plans and tools (ie: product/initiative sales sheets)

· Using advanced analytics, lead establishment and maintenance of customer level sales reports based on KPI’s.

· Establish and maintain CRM database for key customers and enable sales prospecting.

· Lead trade show marketing planning and execution.

· Lead budget management and monthly reconciliation of sales and marketing budgets.

Customer Support

· Lead customer analytic support for key provincial government and private customers.

· Effectively manage and lead customer analysis/forecasting for products. Includes customer-facing initiatives.

· Lead customer (store staff) education planning and execution including an education based, online and live selling platform.

Customer Marketing and Analytics

· Lead opportunity spotting and performance analysis for key customers and categories.

· Establish and lead planning of customer activity calendars.

· Lead portfolio merchandising solutions development and execution at customer level.

· Lead planning and execution and post analysis of customer marketing initiatives including B2B direct mail, social, and email marketing.

· With support from our design team, be responsible for leading the development of the product catalogues, website and digital social campaigns (including SEO and SEM).

Project Management

· Using project mgmt. best practices lead cross functional teams to success in a variety of projects.

Located in GTA we offer flex hours and a home office. We work in a virtual team environment so as long as you are meeting your commitments you can work from nearly anywhere. Our office is in the heart of Toronto at 2 Bloor West, Suite 1805 with travel to that location expected weekly.

You Are Someone Who:

· Is motivated by and capable of creating something from nothing. You enjoy the start up mentality and enjoy being accountable for results.

· Are insatiably curious about products, categories and what motivates customers.

· Has 3-5 years experience working in a selling environment in a marketing/trade marketing capacity.

CPG and beverage alcohol experience is preferred.

· Has a post secondary degree and are highly motivated to work in the emerging Cannabis industry

· Has a strong project management experience and has a heightened sense of personal accountability.

· Is highly skilled at analytics, identifying insights from data and turning them into actionable opportunities.

· Is an exceptional collaborator, consensus builder and valued team member.

· Highly skilled developing persuasive B2B business communications. Highly skilled in MS Office suite.

· Bilingual French English is an asset.

· Ability to travel periodically in Canada and occasionally the US. Must have a valid drivers license.
