Reporting to the Manager, the candidate is expected to provide a safe and comfortable environment for all patients, visitors and staff within the hospital′s complex. The position will be responsible for repairs, maintenance and installation of all plumbing systems (domestic, process, and industrial) according to hospital and building code requirements. You will be responsible for the layout and design of plumbing for minor renovations or installation of new fixtures and devices. In addition, you will perform system tests, checks, preventative maintenance as well as maintaining accurate work records all while utilizing an electronic dispatching and work order management system. The position will perform general maintenance duties as per assignment. The position will also be required to undertake scheduled work across the SHN sites as assigned by the Manager and/or Supervisor.

Requirements:

• High School Graduate
• Valid Ontario 306A Plumber′s License
• Demonstrates ability to perform the physical work as required
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and within a team environment
• Demonstrated communication skills – electronic, verbal, and written
• Must have a valid driver′s license (G Class)
• Minimum 3-year recent experience in an industrial / institutional/ commercial maintenance environment with a similar role preferred.
• Good organizational skills and demonstrated ability to prioritize work load- adapting to changing demands with flexibility and efficiency.
• Demonstrates values consistent with SHN′s Code of Conduct and is committed to fostering a healthy and positive work environment in accordance with Health & Safety policy and legislation.
• Utilize protective equipment provided and identify and reports hazards
• Engages in ethical conduct and strives to understand and appreciate the diversity of our patient/staff population and community.
• Strong work ethic and commitment is required
• Demonstrated high standards of work outputs
• Highly punctual
• Demonstrated professionalism and reliability
