Reporting to the Director, Professional Practice, the Manager of the Nursing Resource Team will be responsible for a number of Health Human Resource programs for SHN, including the New Graduate Guarantee (NGG), Nursing Resource Team (NRT), Critical Care NRT, Multi-site Critical Care Team, and other Ministry of Health Program. The NRT Manager provides creative and innovative leadership, planning, organizing, assessing, monitoring and evaluating all aspects of the nursing resource teams. The Manager will support the recruitment, reporting and transition of experienced and newly graduated nurses within the resource teams. The incumbent will also be an effective leader and mentor for new and experienced nurses focusing on developing skilled practitioners and supporting them to meet their career goals within SHN. The successful candidate is a highly motivated and effective leader passionate about fostering the growth and development of nurses and nursing practice. In collaboration with the Patient Flow team, Professional Practice, and other Leadership team members, the Manager will coordinate and evaluate opportunities for continuous quality improvement within and external to the hospital. The Manager is also responsible for human and financial resources, risk management and promoting team efficiency and effectiveness.
• Day-to-day oversight, scheduling and leadership of the Nursing Resource Teams at SHN
• Accountability for budget, resource allocation, utilization management, safety, quality and risk management and the promotion of service excellence across all aspects of the portfolio
• Foster excellent relationships with colleague managers across programs and Staffing Office
• Undergraduate degree in Nursing
• Master′s Degree preferred
• A minimum of 5 years of health care management or leadership experience
• Previous Experience as a clinical practice leader or educator preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to foster and develop teams, as well as effective mentoring and coaching skills
• Demonstrated ability to effectively manage financial and human resources
• Evidence of established program development and evaluation skills
• Excellent leadership, interpersonal and negotiating skills
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate collection, analysis and presentation of information to support planning and decision-making
• Demonstrates values consistent with SHN′s Code of Conduct and is committed to fostering a healthy and positive work environment in accordance with Health & Safety policy and legislation
• Demonstrates an understanding of and commitment to SHN′s comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff safety, patient safety, and environmental safety and participates in regular in-service education in this area
• Demonstrates excellent work performance and attendance records
