Senior Manager, Enterprise Risk

As the Senior Manager, Enterprise Risk , you will contribute to the overall success of Global Risk Management Enterprise Risk in Canada and supports second line oversight of insurance risk globally ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives.

You will also ensure all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, and internal policies and procedures.

You will provide second line oversight of insurance risk for the Bank’s Canadian and International insurance and reinsurance subsidiaries.

In addtion, you will support the continuous evolution of enterprise risk with a focus on initiatives to augment risk identification and measurement capabilities in partnership with stakeholders across Global Risk Management and other functional areas.

In this role you, will: Champion a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.

Lead the identification, assessment, measurement, monitoring and communication of insurance risk, including the internal capital calculation methodology for insurance, through regular risk-related reports for senior management and various risk committees.

Develop and maintain the Bank’s Insurance Risk Appetite Metrics, Insurance Risk Management Policy, and relevant guidelines; ensures the implementation of such metrics, policy and guidelines across all insurance and reinsurance subsidiaries.

Lead and coordinate the Bank’s insurance business stress testing and provides advice and counsel on insurance risk related items to insurance subsidiaries Manage the annual Assessment of Risk program and produces risk assessment reports for Senior Management’s review and strategic decision making; liaise with key internal stakeholders to gather relevant information, review and analyze effectiveness; make recommendations to Senior Management and executes changes in collaboration with key stakeholders Develop an enterprise risk taxonomy by collaborating with cross-functional teams within the Bank; provides effective challenge to the risk assessments of other departments; investigates and recommends improvements for identified weaknesses and inefficiencies Assist other Enterprise Risk Management Program initiatives by providing support, direction, and/or coordination and development for major project deliverables Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?

– We’d love to work with you if you have: Undergraduate degree in business administration, finance, or actuarial science; MBA is considered as an asset Understanding of insurance industry; knowledge of methodologies for quantifying and analyzing insurance risks Experience in Risk Management and/or Internal Audit, with knowledge of risk identification and assessment in the financial services industry Strong relationship management and interpersonal skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Proven analytical skills, conceptual thinking and systematic problem solving Able to troubleshoot and deal with ambiguity Strong project management skills What’s in it for you?
