Reporting to the Manager, Technology Infrastructure the Technical Specialist, IT Project Management will be responsible for scoping, planning, executing and delivering health care technology projects that produce the desired results, within established timelines and budget.

This includes stakeholder engagement activities, coordinating the efforts of team members, vendors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan.

The role combines knowledge of and experience with health care technologies and applications and project management expertise.

Responsibilities:
• Define and document project scope, goals and deliverables which support business goals in collaboration with sponsors, stakeholders and end users
• Develop full-scale project plans and associated communication documents
• Effectively communicate project expectations to project team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion
• Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals
• Draft and submit budget proposals, and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary
• Determine and assess need for additional subject matter expertise and facilitate the appropriate recruitment if necessary during project cycle.

• Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders.

• Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path
• Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools
• Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations
• Ensure appropriate project documentation is provided to sponsors and maintained in the project knowledge base
• Coordinate internal resources, third parties/vendors and consultants for the flawless execution of projects
• Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques Requirements:
• Advanced degree in health care or technology field
• Project Management Professional Certification
• 5 years′ work experience as a health care/technology project manager
• Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
• Expertise with MS Office including MS Project and Visio
• Proven organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
• Demonstrates a commitment to customer service when dealing with patients, colleagues and volunteers and other members of the community and public
• Demonstrates values consistent with SHN′s Code of Conduct and is committed to fostering a healthy and positive work environment in accordance with Health & Safety policy and legislation.

• Demonstrates an understanding of and commitment to SHN’s comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff safety, patient safety, and environmental safety and participates in regular in-service education in this area.

• Utilize protective equipment provided and identify and reports hazards
• Engages in ethical conduct and strives to understand and appreciate the diversity of our patient/staff population and community
